MELTED Ice Cream & Frozen Dessert Festival has been cancelled.

What’s the scoop?

I scream! You scream! We all scream for ice cream!

Introducing MELTED, New Zealand’s first ever ice cream and frozen dessert festival. Taking over the Tauranga Waterfront on Saturday 9th February 2019, MELTED is a celebration of all things cool and sweet. With a wide range of ice cream, gelato, sorbet, fruit ice cream, milkshakes, and a whole heap of other treats, there's something for everyone at MELTED.

Featuring cooking demonstrations, live music, food trucks, entertainment, competitions, and a whole heap of ice cream, MELTED is the place to be this summer!

Tauranga Waterfront, The Strand

The Tauranga Waterfront is one of the most loved venues in the Bay of Plenty featuring some of the Tauranga’s top bars and restaurants, stunning views of the harbour, the amazing tidal steps and bombing platform.

It is also the home to our favourite pooch from Donaldson’s Dairy with the amazing Hairy Maclary statues. With ocean views, plenty of free parking and access to public transport options, Tauranga Waterfront is the perfect venue for this innovative new festival.

MELTED will feature three ticketed sessions throughout the day:

Hello everyone, Luke from Knock Knock Events here. I wanted to give you an update on MELTED Ice Cream & Frozen Dessert Festival which was due to take place on Saturday 9th February. Unfortunately, due to many reasons outside of our control, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the event.

We have been working hard to secure our final vendors and contributors, many of whom had previously committed to attend MELTED. Unfortunately, over the last few weeks, a number of our contributors have withdrawn from the event due to factors outside of our and their control. We have been working around the clock to try to secure the best possible contributors but sadly have been unable to lock in the high-quality offerings that have been promoted and which ultimately this festival is built on.

As you can imagine it’s not an easy decision to cancel any event and rest assured we have done everything we can to source alternative offerings and create an amazing event as planned. However, with so many factors outside of our control, we feel that it’s not fair to our current and prospective ticket holders continue to run this event when it would no longer represent the experience that has been advertised.

While we could still provide an entertaining and immersive festival site, this event relies on being able to provide suitable product offerings in line with the festival’s intended purpose. As we are no longer able to provide the product selection required to create this festival, there is no other option but to cancel the event.

All existing ticket holders have been advised of the event cancellation and will receive a full refund to their registered credit/debit card within 10 working days.

On behalf of the organising team, I am very sorry that MELTED Ice Cream & Frozen Dessert Festival will no longer proceed and for any inconvenience or disappointment caused.

+ Why an Ice cream festival?

Us Kiwis love ice cream. In fact, we love it so much that we actually consume the most ice cream in the world per capita at a whopping 23 litres per year! What better way to celebrate our frozen love affair than with a festival devoted to our favorite sweet treats? Set in the summer hotspot of Tauranga, MELTED will bring together some of New Zealand’s top frozen dessert creators, artisans, and manufacturers to showcase the most delicious ice cream and frozen goodies that this fine land has to offer.

+ When is MELTED?

MELTED will be held on Saturday 9th February 2019. There are three ticketed sessions throughout the day; Morning (10am - 2pm), Afternoon (2pm - 6pm), Evening (6pm - 10pm)

+ Where is MELTED being held?

MELTED will be held on the Tauranga Waterfront, The Strand, Tauranga.

+ Is MELTED suitable for children?

Absolutely! However, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

+ Which brands/vendors are going to be there?

We will announce our first line up on Wednesday 21st November.

+ How much are tickets?

You can find all the different ticket types and prices on our tickets page.

+ What does my ticket include?

Your ticket will give you entry into MELTED. Once inside, you can enjoy things like live music, product demos, samples, and a heap of fun. Every ticket holder will also recieve a limited edition reusable MELTED spoon upon entry.

+ Why are there different sessions?

We want as many people to enjoy MELTED as possible, so we've split it into three sessions to make sure everyone doesn't come at once. All three sessions are exactly the same.
